TheSpeedGamers to Catch ‘em All! (in 72 hours)

speedgamerspokemonTheSpeedGamers, on the December 18th, are going to tackle the near impossible! They are going to capture all 493 Pokemon in 72 hours (3 days) in hopes of raising $15,000 USD for Ally’s House.

Ally Faith Webb was an almost 3-year-old girl that just before her 2nd birthday developed a knot in the side of her stomach. This knot, come to find out, was a Wilm’s tumor that was effecting both of her kidneys and they had to be removed.

A month prior to her 3rd birthday the cancer had gotten the better of Allison and she died on August 6th, 2003.

TheSpeedGamers are a Dallas-Forth Worth based group that in the past month have ran through games such as Mario, Metroid, Halo and Resident Evil and have raised over $90,000 in the process. They have also attempted to get Earthbound brough to the States, as well as done some marathons just for fun.

TheSpeedGamers are going to power through 8 of the Pokemon Games (Fire Red, Leaf Green, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl) with only the event attainable Pokemon as a head-start. No other outside trades will be allowed

They have already begun accepting donations in form of debit, credit and paypal on their website and have already raised $150 before the events have begun.

As incentive, once they reach $5,000, TheSpeedGamers will release a trailer that will announce their 2010 marathon schedule.

Ally’s full story can be found on [Ally's House.net]

Bus Stop encourages you to visit the Gym?

Fitness First in Netherlands has installed a weighing machine to the bench in bus stops as an advertising ploy. When you sit on the bench, a screen on the side publicly displays your weight. Now, there is no warning that you are about to sit on a scale and I am guessing that this is going to create an issue with some bus travelling people. Apparently,... [Read more of this review]
